Hello dear!!! How is your angst? Thank you for visiting me gain. I have come to you a couple times and I haven't been able to comment, but my isuck is letting me today! yay!
I don't even care about going dancing anymore. Seriously. That would mean getting dressed, doing my hair, better make-up, and then, by the time it is time to go dancing, I am ready for bed!!! Ugh. Just give me my bed. :P
one of my bff's tried to get me to go dancing with her last weekend & i balked like she'd asked me if i wanted to eat spoiled meat while sitting on a chair filled with thumb tacks. no thanks. i went dancing last spring for a bachelorette party and then at the wedding a couple weeks later, but that was it. i lost my groove. and my money makers shake themselves now, even without my permission. when was the last time you went dancing, karen? i mean, actually danced, not just went to a place where others did so.
The night Princess Diana died. No, that's not why I stopped but I just remember being out, sitting at the bar and breaking news came on. I still have it in me but I don't know of any dance clubs that start at 4, end at 8 and have a playroom for the children. Maybe I should start one! m.
Sherilin and Mark kill me!!! You guys are too funny. I can picture Sherilin at 'The 4 o Clock Club', trying to sit down but her moneymakers won't stop moving! Then the kids break out of day care and jump on, thinking it's a new carnival ride or something.
Anyway, don't listen to me, I'm not feeling well today.
Went out dancing...about 6 years ago. sadly. If weddings/Christmas parties count, then last November and I danced teh night away...and it took me 5 days to recover! I kinda miss it...I wannna go dancing!!!
Daniele, that is all so true. I'm pretty tired by 10 every night, so there would have to be a dance club that catered to older, more tired domestic types :)
p.s. my angst is just fine and still ever present, thanks! How've you been?
Sherilin, I actually put the music on fairly often and shake my thang, but usually that's when I'm home with the kids and The Man's gone out.
The last time I went to a club was for a bachelorette party only within the past year and it was hideous because all the girls were 20 and wore tight mini dresses and the music sucked large.
Aw Matt, I'm sorry to hear it, but this is just about the time everyone's coming down with something...and I've been hearing a LOT of coughing around the hood these days.
Anyhoo, yes, Mark and Sherilin are indeed hilarious.
Maybe you should start a new carny ride up called "moneymaker". shake-a-shake-a-shake-a!
Ooooh! I used to LOVE to go out dancing. I also used to be able to stay up until four and not feel like I got hit by a truck the following day.
The last time I went dancing was almost exactly seven years ago, on Halloween weekend. I went out with a bunch of friends, and there was a guy there that was friends with someone's boyfriend. I thought he was super cute, but I tried to get him to come dance with me and he just shook his head and said, 'Nope.' I was like, screw this guy, he's boring.
i went out last weekend & we went to this place that was sort of an upscale bar/club downtown & the wait staff women were wearing tights & leotards with legwarmers. ummm... really? granted, it was 80's night in honor of footloose, but still! i couldn't dance due to my distress over the hot little hootchies all around me. i'd rather sit or stand off to the side & observe now. or maybe i just should have been drunker. alcohol makes me jiggle & shake my bits.
Isn't that the truth, Sherilin (re; the liberating effects of booze). Oh the horror about the leg warmers. Don't you find it ridiculous when people try to reproduce the fashion of another era--especially the 80's--they never do a good job of it.

Do my kitchen and my car count as dance venues? If so, then I dance every frickin day, man! I'm so HARDCORE, innit!
ReplyDeleteSarah xxx

Does a high school dance count? Yep, I don't like dancing.

Mark, I think you're on to something. Seriously, that is so true. I'm hoping the dj doesn't suck at my brother-in-law's upcoming wedding next summer.
ReplyDeleteOh, it counts Sarah. Have you been to a club in ages??? I used to LOVE going out dancing.

yeah, I miss it too Steph. That's good at least that the wedding you went to played good music, because more and more that is freaking RARE.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it counts any longer Lisa, kind of like when you get that internet message about the page you wanted having expired...

He is now my husband...life's funny that way.
Scary thought: perhaps the 1980s
ReplyDeleteVesta, that's a hilarious story! He's your husband now!
ReplyDeleteHa! Well, most men will not dance, and if they do, it's torture for them the entire time.
no more chicken dances or macarenas at weddings, Laoch?

ReplyDeletewhen you get to be my age people don't get married anymore.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to DC a few weeks ago! Prior to that though I have no idea...it's been forever.

ReplyDeleteI would have found that horrifying too.
Laoch, agreed. I do however still have a few younger cousins, and maybe the odd person who's finally SUCCUMBED to marriage :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, right Paula? It suddenly slips away from us without even realizing it.
