  2. Please ask your daughter if I can come over to play. It looks so nice. (I promise to put toys away and I am sick of Lego.)

    1. ooo Leanne...I'm considering doing a ten second video on how I deal with Lego....

It's actually FUN to pick up her toys now!

      No wait...that sounds sick.

    2. Ten seconds??? Do you use a vaccuum? Shh, whisper, okay? The boy is standing right here and I don't want him to know.

    3. yeah, I've vac-ed up small accessories in the past on purpose, and I did NOT feel guilty about it.

    1. it was inspired by my sister, who is GOOD at organizing toys! That was so fun. Before it would just get heaped into different containers on the floor. If I was lucky.

    2. i have an affinity for any type of container, drawer system, bin organizer. i get giddy when i find them on sale and i want to buy them all even when i have no current need for such things. because, seriously, what if i think of something tomorrow that would be just perfect in there and then it's not on sale anymore? huh? what then?

    3. wow Sherilin, that is my sister. She goes nutty for bins, boxes, containers and beach type bags. Me? Shirts. I loves me some shirts. Shirts are not helping the problem.

    1. YEAH! YEAH! RIGHT?! Melissa, now I have to smooch you because you noticed the song! See, this is why I'm tormented so much of the time. Because of this brain. It even HAD to be the instrumental version.

  6. BTW, our lives are parallel. Bobina and I went off on our kids last week and made this big deal about all 3 girls cleaning the their rooms. You could eat off they're floors when they were done. Of course...by yesterday, back to normal. sigh

  7. Oh Lance--oh how I know that it doesn't last long! That's why it's one of the most unsatisfying jobs of all--it doesn't last!

    1. My boy is 17 and a pig. I gave up a long long time ago.

Out of 4 kids I had one clean freak( girl), one very tidy almost clean freak (a boy) and a lazy piggy daughter and a lazy piggy boy. Now that the piggy girl moved out she admitted to me she was lazy...and lives with a room mate who is more lazy she and now she cleans after her.

And the piggy 17 year old? His room is at the far end of the house and I just don't go that way anymore.

    2. No matter HOW much I danced and yelled about cleaning rooms..It never lasted. So if they want to live in filth go for it.

    3. Oh I hear you. What I DIDN'T take a picture of is this pantry which has drawings spilling all over the floor and everywhere. Oh, I also shut the mental door on Jack's room. It's a pit of despair right now.

  8. I gave up on a clean room for my daughter a long time ago! She's 17 and I've just accepted that she is a slob. Just keep the door shut, otherwise I might go crazy!

    1. well, it makes me feel that way too..and yet, I am far more hap-hazard by nature, so it was only through the wisdom of my sister that I was able to attain this state of tidy beauty.

    1. Well Pam...it's lasted over a week so far!!

Oh yeah--you'd make a beautiful girl's room--that's for sure. Why don't you start hiring yourself out as a home stager/interior decorator???

    1. AWESOME! I loved that book! At first it comes off as a goofy teen novel, but it's really smart and subtle.
